FDA Kini Telah Menolak PMTA daripada 295 Syarikat Vape

FDA mengumumkan hari ini bahawa 127 pengeluar vaping tambahan telah menerima Perintah Penolakan Pemasaran (MDO) untuk produk yang dihantar dalam Permohonan Tembakau Sebelum Pemasaran (PMTA) sejak kemas kini terakhir pada 10 Sept.. MDO baru mewakili kira-kira 100,000 produk—hampir semua cecair e-botol dalam perisa selain tembakau atau menthol.

Sejak 26 Ogos, 295 pengeluar telah menerima MDO untuk lebih daripada 1,089,000 produk. Sejak tarikh akhir 9 Sept. untuk produk yang tidak sah dikeluarkan dari pasaran, Pusat Produk Tembakau FDA tidak mengesahkan satu produk vaping pun untuk pemasaran.

Produk dengan PMTA yang ditolak seharusnya dikeluarkan dari pasaran atau tertakluk kepada penguatkuasaan FDA yang lebih lanjut. FDA telah menyatakan bahawa keutamaan penguatkuasaan tertinggi mereka termasuk produk yang telah menerima MDO atau tidak pernah dihantar untuk semakan. Walau bagaimanapun, semua produk yang tersedia pada masa ini secara teknikalnya kekal di pasaran bergantung kepada budi bicara penguatkuasaan FDA, termasuk produk pengeluar vape pasaran besar seperti Juul Labs dan jenama Vuse milik Reynolds American.

Bersama dengan pusingan pertama MDO, FDA mengumumkan satu standard yang tidak diterbitkan sebelum ini yang memerlukan PMTA untuk produk yang berperisa selain tembakau dan menthol menunjukkan “bukti saintifik yang mencukupi untuk produk tertentu bagi menunjukkan manfaat yang cukup kepada perokok dewasa yang akan mengatasi risiko yang dihadapi oleh golongan muda.”

Untuk kali pertama sejak FDA mengumumkan keperluan itu, ia telah mengeluarkan penolakan kepada pengeluar sistem terbuka yang mempunyai sumber untuk memasukkan bukti sedemikian dalam PMTA mereka. Lebih awal hari ini, kami melaporkan bahawa Turning Point Brands dan AVAIL Vapor adalah antara syarikat yang menerima MDO minggu ini untuk produk vaping berperisa.

Yang lain dipercayai telah menghantar bukti saintifik yang luas dalam PMTA mereka juga menerima MDO, termasuk pengeluar barisan Bidi Stick sekali pakai. Beberapa pengeluar cecair e yang terkenal dan sudah lama berada di pasaran menerima MDO, termasuk Beard Vape Company, Cosmic Fog, Ruthless dan Mister E-Liquid.

Walaupun FDA mengatakan ia telah mengeluarkan 295 MDO, senarai ini hanya mengandungi 240 nama. Agensi mengatakan pengeluar yang mengeluarkan penolakan untuk produk yang tidak dipasarkan pada masa ini tidak dinamakan.
