After reviewing the Alibarbar Swirl, it’s honestly refreshing to get a disposable vape that’s actually palmable again. The Whatabar Linko is about half the size of most high-puff bricks, but it hits like size doesn't matter. You’re working with an 18 mL transparent tank, 5% nic salt, and a dual-mesh setup that’s meant to keep flavor rolling even when you’re chain-vaping it.

It runs in two modes, Eco and Boost, each with its own airflow configuration. Chill, or a little bit party-style. It’s still standard draw activation, but it feels like it was made for people who actually carry a vape all day rather than that "thing" hidden in a work drawer.

Size, look, and feel

The Linko is compact in the kind of way that makes you stop and say, “yeah… disposables didn’t used to be like this.” Even calling it stout or slender feels weird if you remember how small pod vapes used to be. But in today’s world, it’s smaller than most high-capacity disposables and still hangs with the best of them.

Each device matches its flavor color, which sounds minor, but it’s actually nice despite being an industry standard. You can grab the right one at a glance. The glossy body feels good in the hand, and the raised text on the artwork and branding gives it a little texture instead of just being another smooth plastic bar.

It’s light and easy to carry. The only thing I’ll nitpick is the mouthpiece for hands-free use. It’s just shy of “yeah, you can do that.” There’s a slight curve to the neck that makes a slip more likely, and I don’t think the tip sticks out far enough from the tank to feel secure. Not a knock, just an observation. And honestly, I’ve never had a charged Linko and thought about what it was missing.

Getting started

Even though the Linko is billed as a “vaper’s device,” it’s as complicated as turning on a light (which the Linko doesn't bombard you with). There’s nothing to build or fiddle with beyond the power-level slider switch. It’s draw-activated, so you’re basically ready the second it’s out of the package. Slide it on and vape.

You can toggle between Eco and Boost depending on how you'd like to vape:

Eco: Relaxed, tighter, and warmer 

Boost: Amplified, looser, and cooler 

In Boost, you can get close to a lung draw if that’s your thing. I keep mine in Eco most of the time with the tighter, warmer pull versus the looser, slightly cooler Boost hit. It feels backwards on paper, I know.

How does it hit?

This is where the Linko gets busy. The hit is consistent and enjoyable in a way that a seasoned vaper would appreciate. It heats quickly and evenly, and can even keep up with long drags in succession.

Eco: Easy to chain vape, with a pronounced throat hit, and tighter, warmer draw 

Boost: Able to take bigger, longer draws, with more airflow; softer throat hit 

Airflow-wise, it mostly lives in that loose-to-medium MTL lane. See, with the Linko, you can tighten it down by switching to Eco, but it’s not trying to mimic a super-tight pull. In Boost with the airflow opened up, you can get surprisingly close to a restricted lung hit. There’s a slight whistle when taking big hits, though.

Whatabar Linko 40K best flavors

Whatabar’s flavor list looked good to me but I didn’t get too giddy. After trying white gummy, I knew the flavors didn’t just look good on paper. It’s weird, but sometimes you can tell a lot about a brand from a flavor that is super common. I guess it levels the playing field.

One thing I can say about these flavors is that they don’t taste like turnkey solutions flavors. You know, companies literally selling the same flavors. These are named like common flavors but taste like… I don't know. I guess, Whatabar's flavors? Very good! But Baja Splash makes me feel like Whatabar might actually be... ah, who cares?!

These are three notable flavors:

White Gummy: The one I keep coming back to. It’s sweet and layered. Medium ice. 

Strawberry Banana: My other jam. It has the perfect mix that allows each flavor to keep their identity. Very good. Light ice. 

Strawberry Ice: A candy flavor. It’s vibrant and sweet. Heavy ice. 

Battery life and charging

The charge rate is stupid fast. It takes around 40 minutes for a full charge, but I was at over 80% in about 20 minutes. From dead to vaping takes a few seconds. And you don't have to just use it in pass-thru mode to reap those benefits. If you don't have long to charge but want to get back to vaping, a quick charge will enable you to get multiple hits again.

The battery life is fine. It’s going to depend on how you vape, of course. If you’re going hard, you can burn through a charge in a day. If you’re more normal about it, it’s closer to a day and a half for the average “I didn’t know I was a vaper” vaper.

Verdict

The Whatabar Linko is one of those disposables that you can develop a thing for. It’s compact and feels like it belongs in your hand. It’s got clean flavor, and it stays pumping it out.

Besides the slight whistle when you take a big hit, there’s nothing I don’t like about the Whatabar Linko. Okay, maybe I don’t love having such brightly colored devices. But times are hard. I’m not tripping on the color of my vapes, especially when they vape as well as the Whatabar Linko.

I think new users are going to appreciate how quickly the charge works to get them back up and vaping.
