Ooze has been making a name for itself in the cannabis industry. They offer a wide range of products that spills into the cannabis vaping market. I recently reviewed a product of theirs that kinda took me by surprise. Today I will be testing out one of their best dab pens.
The Ooze Beacon is a slim dab pen with three heat modes. It utilizes C-Core technology, just like the Ooze Booster that I recently reviewed. The device features a built-in dab tool and an 800 mAh battery that is rechargeable via USB-C with passthrough capabilities.

Ooze Beacon features
The Ooze Beacon is about as slim as it gets for a dab pen. It’s 18 mm in diameter, which is a bit thicker than their best-selling Twist weed pen. It stands at around 124 mm in height, just a hair shorter than the Booster. It weighs 42.1 grams, so it’s relatively lightweight and pocketable. The mouthpiece twists off with a half-turn, just like the Booster. (But this time it turns clockwise.)
The Beacon also features a mini dab tool connected to the mouthpiece for easy loading. The device utilizes Ooze’s C-Core tech for clean flavor and fast heating. My experience with these C-Core atomizers has been great, especially in regard to flavor. Other features include a 15-second sesh mode, safe sesh protections, and three voltage settings (2.7, 3.0, 3.7V).
How to use the Ooze Beacon
The Beacon is very easy to use. Here are some tips.
- Remove the mouthpiece with a half twist
- Use the built-in dab tool to take your dab
- Load your dab in the center of the atomizer
- Re-attach the mouthpiece
- Five clicks to turn the device on
- Three clicks to cycle through voltage settings
- Two clicks to engage session mode
- One click to end session mode early
- Hold the button to use it in manual mode

How does it perform?
I tested the Ooze Beacon with some live resin dabs that I had. I like how easy it is to load, and the hits have been super smooth. The flavor is also really crisp, as I would have expected based on my last Ooze review. They are doing something special with this new C-Core tech.
The Beacon is not the hardest-hitting dab pen. For stronger hits, I’ll crank it up to 3.7V and hold down two of the four airflow holes with my fingers while hitting it. But I feel like the Beacon was designed for softer hits as an entry-level dab pen, in contrast to the Booster, which hits a lot harder.
The C-Core atomizers start producing vapor within just seconds. They also do a good job of evenly vaporizing the dabs without burning them. Even on the highest setting, you can get a few decent hits out of just a tiny dab. I think the built-in dab tool also helps conduct heat for even vaporization. There were no burnt hits, and it doesn’t melt the dab right away like other pens.
How to clean the Ooze Beacon
Cleaning the Ooze Beacon is very easy. Here are some simple steps for keeping your Beacon performing in top gear.
- Twist the mouthpiece off
- Unscrew the atomizer section
- Clean the inside of the chamber with an alcohol swab
- Clean all of the contacts with an alcohol swab
- Clean the outside of the device itself using an alcohol wipe
Battery life and charging
The Beacon has an 800 mAh battery, which is not bad. I went days with it before having to charge it–with multiple sessions per day. That’s good, considering I normally use it in the highest setting.
Unfortunately, there’s no battery indication, so you may end up proactively charging it just to be safe. It took a little under an hour to charge it via USB using the included cable and wall adapter. The Beacon also supports passthrough, so you can use it while charging.

Verdict
The Ooze Beacon is for flavor chasers and beginner dabbers. It has a lot of airflow, so the hits are smooth and flavorful. I wish they would have dialed back the airflow a bit for denser clouds, but then it wouldn’t be as smooth of a hit. Also, I’m not a huge fan of plastic parts, and I wish there were a way to know how much battery is left. Other than that, this thing is dope.
The Beacon is a dab pen that makes dabbing simple and fun again. It doesn’t compare to a real dab rig, but it is a nice slim extract pen that you can depend on for clean flavor. If you are looking for more of a dab rig experience, then the Booster would be more up your alley.
